The Earth Conspiracy Pt 2:The Old World Conspiracy

A visceral adventure through our realm's forgotten history.

A visceral adventure through our realm's forgotten history.

Happy Easter, fellow diggers!

That joyful period when people everywhere come together over the unjust martyrdom of the future saviour of humanity, whether it be Yeshua then or Orange Man now.

Of course: those filthy, nature-worshipping heathens will tell you that the Jesus story was not actually the story of a real man, or Man, but an allegorical reference to the passage of Sol through our heavens.

Well, as the Taco Kid said best: why not both? What if all these tales we find repeated (with minor variations) throughout ancient mythology operate at multiple levels: as archetypal stories fundamental to the human experience, but also coded Astrotheological prayers to that ever-present and ever-guiding Sky Clock above us?

Whilst there is much that we don’t know about the human civilisations that preceded our modern technological and idol-obsessed selves, one thing we can say for sure is that they studied and understood the Luminaries above us in a fundamentally different manner than we do now.

This was my gateway into what I now call The Old World Conspiracy: the discovery that these supposedly primitive cultures were in fact responsible for the creation of megalithic architecture whose mathematically-encoded design and celestial arrangements demonstrate a knowledge and expertise not only far greater than what we give our ancestors credit for, but which appears greater than our own.

Since then, alternative ancient history has been one of my favourite wombat holes. Why?

Firstly, because it delves into nostalgia rather than nefariousness, and encourages imagination over suspicion.

It operates within a cyclical, cataclysmic model of history, rather than the linear evolutionary progress of uniformitarianism.

Finally, it demands the humility to consider that our current technological and idol-obsessed culture may not be as advanced and evolved as we like to comfort ourselves into believing.

Perhaps the best thing about The Old World Conspiracy is that it doesn’t rely on dodgy internet sources and YouTube videos to make its case; it is far more concrete and material: quite literally in some cases.

The conspiracy lies right there, hidden in plain sight, in the physicality of the realm that we occupy: in the pyramids and other megalithic architecture that we have been unable to replicate; in the cathedrals, arches and star forts that might hold hidden energetic functions; perhaps even in the mountains, desert plains and valleys that we assume to be random natural formations but may in fact be anything but.

To aid in this visceral adventure through the lost history of our realm, I have recruited my best Substack friend and fellow wholesome conspirator, the appropriately-named Visceral Adventure: a video producer and self-confessed (albeit recovering) theatre nerd, who has the patience and talent to take my various assorted ideas and images and weave them into a coherent visual narrative — tied together, in an added bonus, by her characteristic Eastern-European-tinged narration.

Be warned: The Old World Conspiracy is not about definitive answers for the true history of our realm — we now seem past the point where such certainty remains possible. Instead, it is about engaging our imagination, gently provoking our emotions, and ultimately opening ourselves up to a type of mystery and wonder that is slowly being squeezed out of our increasingly technocratic and simulated reality. In other words: leave your fact checking and debunking hats at the burrow entrance, please.

Did I mention the video is soundtracked to Frank Ocean and other pop bangers? It’s time to Make Conspiracy Cool Again, fellow diggers: one wholesome wombat hole at a time.
