Who Takes Down the Abusers?

Imagine a world that has been taken over and controlled by a group of individuals with psychopathic personalities. They are narcissists who get their kicks from controlling people.

Imagine, in this world — one that is purely hypothetical of course — what it would take for these people to no longer be in control.

Yes, every individual can make the choice — using their free will — to stop letting these nasty people control their lives: face the new unknown reality that entails, drawing on that courage and fortitude that the abused draws on when they leave their abuser once and for all.

But what happens to the abuser? Do they simply move on to the next person? Will there always be a next person until, finally, someone with the necessary skills to combat the abuser head-on takes that challenge — to play their game and win that game.

The person capable of playing (and winning) this game is almost certainly not the person we would like them to be. They won’t be ‘perfect’. The won’t be ‘nice’. They probably will make people uncomfortable. They probably will upset people’s sensibilities.

They would, I would imagine, understand the mindset of the abuser. They would, to be able to do that, share many of those same attributes: unwavering self-belief, arrogance, shamelessness, scruples.

They may have even walked that path themselves.

The difference is — and this really is the only difference that matters, when you operate in a duality of good versus evil, dark versus light — that they have chosen to use their abilities for the good of the world rather than simply the good of themselves.

Perhaps this is the most important part: because they resemble in so many ways the people they are trying to take down — to expose as who they are, really, because that is how they will eventually be taken down — they might easily be mistaken to be one of these people. In fact, they will almost certainly be made out to be one of these people — probably even to be the worst of them — by these very people that are being exposed.

If this person had a sense of humour, having had to endure this, they would probably troll them in return. And, for me at least, it would be hard to hold that against them.
